The Design

Two larger wheels attach to the drone’s body. These wheels allow the item to act as a rolling spider.
When controlling in spider mode (as I like to call it), you can roll quickly on the ground right into the wall and then watch the drone as it scales the wall just as a spider would.

When you reach the ceiling, the drone will be able to “crawl” across the ceiling. This is something straight out of a sci-fi movie.
Once finished, you can fly away with the wheels attached. I found that the attached wheels allow for a very easy landing.
If users want to go from spider to pure drone, the wheels detach to allow this. Using a quadcopter design, the drone will glide through the air with the utmost in stability and speed.
Controls

Mobile devices will be needed to control this drone. Using the FreeFlight 3 application, you’ll be able to effortlessly control the drone using Bluetooth 4.0 technology.
The app is intuitive and will allow you to see flight time, battery life and of course control your drone from up to 65 feet away.

Many users have been able to extend their control range to 75 feet, but you’ll want to proceed with caution as the drone will crash if a signal is lost.
Camera
A mini-camera is embedded into the drone. This will not provide you with the same quality as a GoPro, but it is able to take stunning aerial shots given the size. Pictures are taken at 360px vertical.
Speed and Agility

Speed and agility are where this toy goes from pretty cool to completely awesome. First, you’ll be able to use this drone indoors and outdoors without any issues. If the wind is particularly strong, you’ll want to stick to indoor flying. Remember, this model weighs just 1.9 ounces, so a strong gust of wind can send this drone flying.
A top speed of 11 MPH, or 18 km/h, is seen. This is a fast little drone that will zip through the air with ease.
The rolling spider is accompanied by an automatic pilot mode to provide balance and agility when using the wheels. This allows users to shoot up into the air while hugging the wall tightly.

Turning is completely awesome. Users are able to take a sharp 90 degree turn to impress their friends or a 180 turn to really get the party started.
Back and front flips are also able to be done with the touch of a button. This allows you to show off your piloting skills and fly like a pro – minus the training.
If the drone crashes, there is an onboard sensor that will turn off the propellers to minimize product damage and any potential injuries.
Flight times are stated to be up to 8 minutes in length with a recharge time of up to 2 hours. Most pilots have stated that the flight time is closer to 5 minutes, and that the battery comes less than 50 percent charged. If you plan on buying this model as a gift, you may want to open the box and charge the battery before giving it away. This will allow the eager pilot to be able to fly without having to wait for an hour.
Over 100 people have left stunning reviews on the Rolling Spider MiniDrone. It’s fun, exciting and puts a real spin on what a drone can truly do.
