REMEMBER: You Will Discover 7 Best Mini Quadcopters You Need to See This YEAR! Number 3 Is Really AWESOME! These Tips Helped Over 15,600 Readers of DRONEBLY! Photos and Videos INCLUDED!

Quadcopters are often large and not as aerodynamic as people would like.

This can often be eliminated completely by choosing a mini quadcopter that is so small, some will fit in the palm of your hand.

While these quadcopters may not be ideal when heavy winds are present or in the rain, they are a great choice when the weather is mild or you want to fly your new machine indoors.

The benefit of these models is that they allow kids to learn exactly how to fly larger models and will not come with the same level of safety hazards as heavier, larger models.

Let’s take a look at the best mini machines that you can buy today.

Control range of the H107L is exceptional at 100 meters. Flight times average 6 – 8 minutes and charging takes just 30 – 45 minutes.

2. Nano QX BNF with SAFE

Blade Nano QX Is an Awesome Drone for Beginners

Stability and agility modes make the Nano QX BNF one of the better flying copters on the market. SAFETM technology further stabilizes the BNF during flight to provide a very smooth flight at high speeds. A 150mAh battery is included.

The one key point that users must know is that there is not a transmitter included. This will boost the price of this model slightly as you will need to purchase a 4 channel DSM2 or DSMX transmitter. Slightly larger than some of the other models, this model is right in the middle of a mini and a normal sized copter. The dimensions are 7.2 x 6.3 x 2.5 inches with an ultra-light weight of just 8 ounces.

New users may want to opt for another quadcopter as flying with this model is precise and difficult to master for the beginner. However, the flying is very refined allowing for quick turns and fast speeds.

Inside use is preferred, but outdoor use is possible when wind are at a minimum. One of the best features of this model is that it stops on a dime mid flight.

I’ve had tons of fun with my Estes 4609 after buying it on a whim for about $25. It has lights; it’s super small and inexpensive, also perfect as a gift. At first I had some problems with the controller but after a few tries you get used to it. Have fun with it, guys!

  • Caleb

Hubsan makes durable quadcopters and while some of their models might be a bit more expensive compared to Syma, for example, I prefer them because their quality is always topnotch. My son has the Hubsan X4 H107C and it’s in decent shape, considering he’s 12 and not very experienced with quadcopters.

  • Jonathan

For me it was very, very hard to get used to quad copters! Truth be told, I’m not the most skilful person out there but I never expected it to be THIS hard. I received my Nano QX BNF in 48 hours and couldn’t wait to take it for a spin but I could barely lift it up in the air. This is definitely something that takes a lot of practice and patience!

    • Mike Gortolev

Hey Jonathan, I agree with you. It is really an art to fly one. Simple as that.

  • Stacey Bloom

My sons been bugging me about a RC copter/quadcopter forever now and I think I found the right one for him, the Hubsan Royal Blue. I’m going to share this article with him and see which one he wants the most though. Thanks for sharing!

  • Donald G.

I really want to get the Estes 4606 Proto X Nano R/C Quadcopter one of these days. It’s so small and cool looking that I’d love to just make some fun videos of it flying on things. With my camera and micro lens would make for some cool videos.

Anyways, the rest of these look quite cool too. I’ll have to check em all out.

  • Jim Boyd

The smaller quad-copters out there are so enjoyable to play with. I need to buy more for myself and my two boys as they love RC copters in general and sort of grown to want them for each holiday and birthday.

  • Big Dan

A nice selection of quad-copters. I have a few of my own, sadly none of which are on this list. I’m really interested in trying a couple of them, and since they’re quad-copters they tend to be fairly priced. I think I’m going to check out the Nano QX BNF with SAFE.

The Estes 4609 sounds like the perfect one to start someone with. I might have to add one to the growing collection of what my wife calls my toys. It should be small enough that it doesn’t knock things over is easy and doesn’t leave dings in the walls.

  • paula hershey

The Hubsan blue looks cool! I’m sure my niece will enjoy maneuvering it. I also like its features and the price seems affordable too. No wonder why it was rated #1 by experts because the features are excellent and convenient. I hope there are other colors available for this model. I would love black and red too.

  • Coach Wagner

Wow! These mini quadcopters are really wonderful! Playing with them will surely bring back the youth it me. They are pretty cool for a collection. If one can’t afford real drones with blasting features, they can opt to these mini-quadcopters instead. There are boys kids on my household and now I have an idea what to buy for them on their birthdays and on the coming Christmas season.
Love all these mini-quadcopters for myself too!

  • Ramon

Really nice list, thank you so much for it! I’ve been into drones and copters for a while now, and been saving up to buy one.

Which one would you recommend for a beginner? I wouldn’t want to dish out a lot of money for something more difficult to control and over my expertise….

  • Charlie Sorrentino

I love the Estes 4909, it’s so tiny and easy to maneuver. I bought it for my daughter a few days ago and now she won’t stop playing with it. It seems drone fever runs in the family 😀

  • Vanessa

The Nano QX only has 8 ounces? What the hell, I’ve eaten steaks heavier than that! It never fails to astound me how much progress technology has made in this regard…we have smaller and smaller copters and drones…next thing we know we’re going to have nanodrones!

  • Chuck

Shoots in 25 frames per minute huh? wow… what an amazing modern age we live in 😉
